know...
I have been
skiing on the freestyle world cup moguls circuit for more than ten

I have won a world cup and I have been in two Olympic finals. Those

I went back to competing a
little after
a solid 5 year break and I won a big qualifier event for the Freeride
World
Tour 2011.
I don’t tell you
this to brag. My
point is - as you’ll
see if you do the math - my skiing career has been pretty long! And this is in spite of me
being told on
several occasions that I would not be able to ski anymore.
You see, I have
also suffered from skiing. Two ACL reconstructions five years apart. And two herniated discs –
right at the peak
of my career when I was leading the world cup one month before the
Nagano
Olympics back in 1998.
So I know about
skiing in pain, coming back after injuries and what you need to focus

fit for skiing. I have returned to skiing every single time and I still
enjoy a
great ski day more than anything.
I come from a
flat country with no mountains and not much snow.
When I decided that I wanted to become as
good as the best in the world and compete with them, I was lacking a
lot of
hours and mileage on the snow. To make up for that, I trained hard to
make sure
that when I was on snow, my body was prepared to put in a little more
than
everyone else, so I could catch up this way.
I always loved

About
the trainer
Anja Bolbjerg
has close to twenty years of experience with conditioning for skiing. First to
prepare herself for her Olympic adventures and 25 world cup top10 finishes in
the physically challenging discipline of moguls skiing. She has had to train
her way back to the top of the field after such serious injuries as herniated
discs and a torn ACL. In 2004 she majored in engineering writing her thesis on
the biomechanics of the knee and she is now a certified and experienced
personal trainer and ski coach.
To this day she
is a passionate skier taking it to new levels. In April 2010 she won the
legendary RFC Freeride World Tour qualifier event in Rĝldal, Norway.
